Rick co-founded The Big Phat Horn Band in 2013 with Sylvain Gagnon. Rick is a well-known Canadian sax player who moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 2006. While in Memphis he performed house gigs on Beale Street at King's Palace, The Rum Boogie Cafe, and at BB King's nightclub.
Some Highlights of Rick’s Career
Rick founded the blues band Blue Monday which lasted for ten years and were featured on The BluesMobile Radio Hour, hosted by Dan Akroyd on over 200 radio stations world-wide. Blue Monday was also featured on the CBC radio show “Saturday Night Blues with Holger Petersen”.
Rick has played at Ottawa Blues Festival Main Stage, twice at New York State Blues Festival Main Stage, Syracuse Jazz Fest and Kingston Blues Fest several times. He’s also performed at several Canadian military bases both in Canada and foreign deployments in Bosnia. Rick has played in over 18 US states, across Canada and in Europe. He also performed in over 40 performances at the Grand Theater in Kingston.
In Kingston Rick has played with The Fabulous Jaguars, Michael George and the Jive, Georgette Fry, The Spencer Evans Group and Head Over Heels. He was a founding member and/or leader of Soul Survivors, Funkelstiltskin, Blue Monday, The Dog House Blues Band, Planet Groove and The Big Phat Horn Band.

The Doobie Brothers, The Neville Brothers, Irma Thomas, Colin James, Downchild Blues Band and Buffalo Springfield to name a few.
